The job of security guard is a dangerous one, as numerous recent incidents illustrate. In Washington, D.C., a security officer was stabbed at a Giant grocery store after an alleged shoplifting was caught on a surveillance camera. When the officer confronted the suspect he pulled out a knife and stabbed the officer "multiple times in the neck, upper body and back area."
In Greenville, NC, a gun battle erupted in a Waffle House parking lot. Police arrived and found that a security officer had been involved in a shooting with an armed man and the two exchanged multiple shots.
