NAPLES, Fla. -- The International Foundation for Protection Officers (IFPO) is pleased to announce the appointment of Timothy S, Fairman, CPP, to its board of directors.

In more than three decades in law enforcement and security, Fairman has methodically elevated his career, all the while recognizing the need for continuing education and volunteerism.

“Tim brings to the IFPO a wealth of knowledge in regards to security officer educational requirements,” IFPO Executive Director Sandi Davies said. “We welcome Tim’s involvement and look forward to working with him as we work towards the IFPO's goals and objectives.”

After serving as a police officer in Wisconsin, Fairman launched his career in the security industry. Over the next two decades, he excelled in numerous supervisory and managerial roles, which carried him to such locales as Minnesota, Texas, Florida, California, New York, and most recently, Nevada.

For the past nine years, Fairman has worked as a supervisor, manager and most recently, security training director for the Switch Las Vegas campus. Switch is a massive data center ecosystem which boasts “24/7/365 elite mission control center, military grade security and company-employed fire brigades,” according to its website.

Fairman’s advocacy for continuing education in security certainly parallels the IFPO’s mission and dedication to perpetual learning.

“As the Security Training Director at Switch, part of our continued learning program is to encourage our security officers and supervisors to study for and obtain the Certified Protection Officer Program (CPO) and the Certified in Security Supervision and Management (CSSM) certifications,” Fairman said.

A firm believer in giving back to the industry, Fairman has served in a volunteer capacity for ASIS International, logging five years as treasurer of the Las Vegas Chapter Board, and also serving as vice chairman and chairman. He was also the co-chairman for the ASIS/GSX 2018 Conference in Las Vegas, was a member of the Professional Development Committee 2019-2020, and is currently part of the CPP Job Analysis Review Committee.

Please help the IFPO in welcoming Fairman to its board of directors and his continued success in the security industry.
