A business improvement district that sits just outside John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City recently initiated a security detail to patrol its businesses and residential properties. Anecdotally, it appears more neighborhoods nationwide are taking similar action. As we know, security officers are often first on the scene in many incidents -- but they have to mandated to be there first.
On Monday October 5th 2020, GatewayJFK launched a new security patrol to help keep our neighborhood safe and vibrant. The goal of the patrol is to provide extra eyes on the streets to prevent burglaries, illegal dumping, and graffiti.
