Sigma Chi members asked a security guard to remove Magee from a party at their off-campus fraternity house because Magee was causing problems, according to an arrest warrant affidavit obtained by the Austin American-Statesman. He allegedly had been inquiring about joining the fraternity and leaving his number with Sigma Chi members.

"When Magee got to the front gate of the fraternity house Magee made verbal threats to return to the party with an AK-47 rifle and shoot up the place," according to the affidavit.
