First with the coronavirus pandemic and more recently, nationwide protests, security officers find there is a need for their services; but along with this increased need, there is a heightened exposure to violence. Such was the case in Seattle, Washington, as a melee erupted between a security team and protesters. Unfortunately, as police intervened to quell the violence, an officer suffered an injury and had to receive emergency care at the scene.

Seattle WA Aug 14 2020 -- An officer was reported injured and two people were arrested after police say there were forced to intervene in a clash between a small group of protesters and private security on the eastern edge of Cal Anderson Park late Wednesday night.
