Here is a recent post by Matt Parker, owner of Independent Security Advisors, a company that specializes in executive and dignitary protection:

As threats increase to judges we also see an increase in threats to small town and big city mayors and other elected officials.

On July 17th the students of ISA EP course 7-19 took part in a discussion on the Use of Private Security vs. Law Enforcement for judges and elected officials hosted by the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 89 in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.

ISA has been a vocal advocate and supporter of the effort to train law enforcement in close protection for elected officials since 2011, but we also believe private EP (executive protection) providers if properly trained and managed should be considered.

The US Marshals Service has been protecting the judicial process since 1789. And today, they're facing increasing threats.
