Security job: Security/building manager for Hood Museum of Art in New Hampshire

Security/Building Manager - Hood Museum of Art, Hanover, NH, owned and operated by Dartmouth College.

Description:

Manage all aspects of security for, visitors, and collections. Manage all aspects of safety, maintenance, and daily operations of the Hood Museum of Art.
Responsible for the operation of electronic systems to include electronic system management, access controls, intrusion detection, fire detection, and video surveillance. Trains and monitors visitor service guides during daily operations and special events. Coordinates museum protection services with external service providers, museum staff, and public safety department staff. Establishes necessary policies, procedures, and training exercises to enhance safety and security of the facility.

Minimum Qualifications:

-- Bachelor’s degree, or the equivalent in education and experience.
-- Three years of experience in security system operations, building management, visitor relations and/or guard force management. Must have sound working knowledge of electronic management systems, access controls, intrusion detection systems, fire detection systems, and video surveillance systems.
-- Demonstrated experience working effectively with a wide range of people; demonstrated ability to work as a part of a complex and integrated team.
-- Ability to establish policies and procedures compatible with industry best practices.
-- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
-- Excellent computer skills including use of Microsoft Office suite and Security System Software.
-- Willingness to work a flexible schedule including evening and weekend events.

Preferred Qualifications:

-- Active membership in nationally recognized professional organization (IFCPP, IFPO, ASIS).
-- National certification in security related field. (CIPM, CISS, CIPS, CPP, CFE)
-- Five years of direct experience with security systems, building management, visitor relations.
-- Direct experience with museum or gallery security and building management.
