DEL CITY, Okla. -- February 10 2019 A Walmart loss prevention agent and a city police officer was shot last night during what police are calling a robbery in progress.

It happened shortly after 11 p.m. at the Walmart near SE 15th and Tinker Diagonal.

Police said that the initial incident started when a man was caught shoplifting.

The man was then taken to the manager’s office where he allegedly pulled out a gun and shot a police officer and security agent.

Details are still being investigated, but the alleged shoplifter was shot and has been pronounced dead at the scene.

The police officer and security officer were taken to the hospital with serious injuries but are expected to survive.

This incident remains under investigation.
